God' Word is awesome!

So God's Word really is awesome! I have been digging deeper and deeper and wanting more and more and you know the funny thing about God's Word... it gives back what you put in!

In Hermeneutics class, which is simply how to interpret and apply the Word of God, we are in Jude. And it's so cool to learn the tools to study the Bible to its fullest. So first in Jude we dug into the historical background of the text and brought out the answers to the questions of who wrote it? who is the audience? what is the audiences culture? what would they have known about what Jude is writing? when was it written? why was it written? etc.
This brought the text of God's Word to the most real and living way I have ever experienced. Getting into the mindset of their culture brought to life how they thought, how they would have reacted, why they would listen, etc.
The next step we are in right now is the literary context: sentence structure, nouns, pronouns, verbs, conjunctions, and the like. And at first i really didn't get the point of this, probably because I never had liked English class since I started kindergarten. But then a story was shared about "The Student, The Fish, and Agassiz". It was the students first day at school and he met a professor and told the professor he wanted to study zoology. So the professor gave him his first lesson and gave him a dead fish to study. And just when the student thought there was nothing more to observe about the fish, the professor would say to look, look, and look again. And the student found more and more to observe about the fish.
So the point is that studying literary context of God's Word is never ending. You can keep pulling more and more and more out of it. This brought me humbly to the realization of how little I really know. It also brought me to the realization of how much more I yearn for God's Word because there is so much to learn. And that this is just the beginning!

In Pentateuch, which is the first five books of the Old Testament, we are in Genesis. Right now we are in the life of Abraham and when God promised him a son in his old age and Lot and his rescue.

In Evangelism, we are writing our testimony of our salvation. I'll put that up for everyone to see.

So ya in conclusion, God's Word is awesome and is living and is 100% true.
