Just some verses I have been meditating on...

1 Tim. 5:3-8 (NASB-U)
Honor widows who are widows indeed; [4] but if any widow has children or grandchildren, they must first learn to practice piety in regard to their own family and to make some return to their parents; for this is acceptable in the sight of God. [5] Now she who is a widow indeed and who has been left alone, has fixed her hope on God and continues in entreaties and prayers night and day. [6] But she who gives herself to wanton pleasure is dead even while she lives. [7] Prescribe these things as well, so that they may be above reproach. [8] But if anyone does not provide for his own, and especially for those of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.

Col. 3:23 (NASB-U)
Whatever you do, do your work heartily, as for the Lord rather than for men,

1 Thes. 4:11 (NASB-U)
and to make it your ambition to lead a quiet life and attend to your own business and work with your hands, just as we commanded you,

2 Thes. 3:10-12 (NASB-U)
For even when we were with you, we used to give you this order: if anyone is not willing to work, then he is not to eat, either. [11] For we hear that some among you are leading an undisciplined life, doing no work at all, but acting like busybodies. [12] Now such persons we command and exhort in the Lord Jesus Christ to work in quiet fashion and eat their own bread.

2 Tim. 2:6 (NASB-U)
The hard-working farmer ought to be the first to receive his share of the crops.

3 John 1:5-8 (NASB-U)
Beloved, you are acting faithfully in whatever you accomplish for the brethren, and especially when they are strangers; [6] and they have testified to your love before the church. You will do well to send them on their way in a manner worthy of God. [7] For they went out for the sake of the Name, accepting nothing from the Gentiles. [8] Therefore we ought to support such men, so that we may be fellow workers with the truth.

2 Tim. 4:5 (NASB-U)
But you, be sober in all things, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry.
